  42. I have an Icom 2SRA and just bought an ANLI RD-78H 2M/70cm whip for
  43. it.  WOW!  What a difference!  The standard rubber duckie gave me
  44. very little range.  Ten miles from a repeater (around where I live,
  45. where it's gently hilly) and I might as well have been on another
  46. continent.  The ANLI lets me hit repeaters I could barely hear
  47. before.  Trust me:  a BIG difference.

  49. This antenna is about 15" long and designed as a flexible, rubber-
  50. coated whip.  That was important to me as I just know that with my
  51. two kids (4 and 7 years old) around, a telescoping antenna would
  52. last about 3 days before one of them discovered what a neat sword
  53. it made and promptly broke it. :-)  The ANLI looks like it should
  54. put up with a fair amount of abuse.  Cost (I phone-ordered it directly
  55. from ANLI) was about $28, I think.

  74. "My feedline tunes my antenna?"  (I think that was the title).

  97. A company called Bilal makes these funky looking monoband antennas that 
  98. look like bird feeders. They have 'em for all bands, even 160m. Supposed 
  99. to be just what the doctor ordered for limited space installations. I 
  100. think their 40m one has 100khz of bandwidth. Call for a catalog -
